On Friday, November 22, we partnered with PORTER-CABLE to provide repairs for three homeowners in the North Point Village neighborhood in Dundalk, MD. These projects signified the launch of our work in North Point Village, which is our new target neighborhood in Baltimore County. The project was part of the nationwide Healthy Housing Challenge, a joint initiative between Rebuilding Together and the National Center for Healthy Housing.The volunteers from PORTER-CABLE were amazing! They accomplished so much between the three houses including:
- Installation of new smoke detectors
- New handrails
- Building entry stairs
- Replacing deck floorboards
- New comfort height toilet
- Making back porches and steps on all three houses safer and more stable
- Caulking of windows and doors
- New grab bars in bathrooms
- Extension of downspouts to divert water away from homes
- Energy Efficiency air sealing and insulation
PORTER-CABLE also made an incredibly generous donation of tools to Rebuilding Together Baltimore to help with this project and many future projects. Thanks PORTER-CABLE!
